The SSEA are a group of volunteers who provide support to local schools in South Shropshire, particularly the Primary Schools, with engineering activities sometimes in school time, but mostly by way of after school activities.
Activities include use of construction or electronic kits, design and build exercises, but a significant amount of the group’s efforts are devoted to assisting the schools with the assembly and running of Greenpower Goblin electric Go-Cart kit cars.
The SSEA has four of these kits which are loaned on rotation to local schools. Three other schools have purchased their own kits. These are assembled and tested over two terms of after school sessions before local and regional events competing against other participating schools.
